2026 Club Championships

You’ll be awarded your best 10 scores for the club championships, selected either from the main races, or the bonus events below. You can take part in more than 10, in which case your score will be calculated as the best of 10.

If you don’t manage to enter 10 events, then you will still appear in the club rankings. You will just be awarded a score of zero for any of the uncompleted events.

Scoring

Scoring is calculated as follows:

Points = 100 - 45 * ((your finish time / age group winner's finish time) - 1)

If your time is more than 3x the age group winners time, or you have to withdraw from the race without finishing, you will score 10 points.

Points are calculated separately for males and females using the male and female age group winning time respectively.

To give some examples:

  • If you are the age winner of the race, you will get 100 points.
  • If you take 20% longer than the age group winner, you will get 91 points.
  • If you take twice as long as the age group winner, you will get 55 points.

We chose the equation above because (i) it doesn’t matter how many other NFAT members turn up to race, the scoring will still be fair since it’s related to the fastest time, not other NFAT runners’ times and (ii) slower runners should still get some points from each race they attend.
